Course Overview

The NEN Orientation Program introduces faculty to the exciting world of entrepreneurship education, where innovative teaching methods and content energizes young people, unleashing their talent and ambitions as never before. The program covers the components of an entrepreneurship ecosystem on campus; the lifecycle of a venture; outlines the fundamental entrepreneurial skills and concepts; and introduces faculty to exercises and games they can run immediately to build awareness and engagement among students. Most importantly, the Orientation Program connects faculty to their colleagues across the country; introduces them to the NEN resources and how to access them; and outlines their role as an NEN Faculty Leader.

Objectives:

• Inspire faculty members to become entrepreneurship educators
• Initiate participants as members of the NEN Community
• Equip participants to run programs that generate student interest in entrepreneurship
• Help faculty members begin to visualize their fully-developed entrepreneurial campus, and their path to reach that goal

Program Faculty

Vasanti Venugopal   Educator, NEN

Vasanti Venugopal, recipient of National Award for ‘Best Entrepreneurship Educator 2008’ has trained over 1,000 faculty members in Entrepreneurship across India. With over 25 years in academics, she has hands-on experience in building robust entrepreneurship program on campus, including Campus Company. Vasanti has been certified with honors in the NEN-Stanford-IIMB Entrepreneurship Educators’ Course (EEC) and in EEDC from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

Asgar Ahmed, Area Manager, NEN

Asgar Ahmed brings to NEN over 15 years of experience in marketing, operations and training. Having led the Bangalore and Mysore markets as Consultant, he is currently leading part of the Consulting Team that manages over 150 institutions across Bangalore, Mysore, Mumbai, Indore, Bhopal and Jaipur. Asgar consults for a number of student startups; and has helped establish startup internships, campus companies and IEDCs on NEN campuses.

Debmalya Bhattacharjee  Area Manager, NEN

Debmalya has over 17 years of experience in the services, hospitality and education sectors. At NEN, he leads the efforts of the consulting team at over 120 academic institutes in Delhi, Kolkata, Durgapur and Pune. He is involved in building partnership with entrepreneur associations to directly help NEN support the entrepreneurs in the country.

Vishnu Priya   Sr. Consultant, NEN

With over 12 years of experience, Vishnu Priya has her expertise in training and module design & development. As a Sr. Consultant, she is leading and actively managing capacity building in academic institutes in collaborative efforts of their E-cells in Chennai. As part of her role, she works with institutes, faculty management and E-leaders to build and execute exciting, high-impact entrepreneurship programs.

Kalpana Sinha    Sr. Consultant, NEN

Kalpana brings to NEN over 13 years of experience in sales & marketing and general administration with reputed organizations. As a consultant with NEN, she supports the establishment of entrepreneurship development programs on campuses, and help member institutions build institutional capabilities using NEN’s support programs, across Delhi.

Jagannathan Seshadri   Consultant, NEN

Jagannathan has more than 10 years of experience in training, teaching and educational services consultancy. He has been a faculty member with good training experience and has been always interested in nurturing leadership among the students. Jagan has been successfully involved in catalyzing interest in entrepreneurship amongst students and building institutional capacity on campuses across Coimbatore.
