Mentor Skills Enhancement Program
Course Overview
A pro-active 2-day course offered to select faculty members on recommendation by the NEN consulting team, based on the faculty’s on-ground performance. The course is specifically designed to enable participants to work efficiently with entrepreneurs. Eligibility to this course depends upon effective implementation of learning from foundation and advance courses undertaken by the faculty. Topics including opportunity evaluation, business models, business planning, estimation of finances, raising money, marketing etc. are reviewed. Further, mentor observation sessions and practice mentoring sessions enable faculty to improve their grasp on the subject and its applicability. Individual attention during and continued one-on-one support after the course ensures that faculty members take away substantial knowledge and skill from the course.
Objectives
• Review key concepts of entrepreneurship education and pedagogy for greater understanding
• Deliver entrepreneurship education effectively to student entrepreneurs as well as community entrepreneurs
• Mentor student entrepreneurs and community entrepreneurs to derive concrete results
Faculty
Vasanti Venugopal Educator, NEN
Vasanti Venugopal, recipient of National Award for ‘Best Entrepreneurship Educator 2008’ has trained over 1,000 faculty members in Entrepreneurship across India. With over 25 years in academics, she has hands-on experience in building robust entrepreneurship program on campus, including Campus Company. Vasanti has been certified with honors in the NEN-Stanford-IIMB Entrepreneurship Educators’ Course (EEC) and in EEDC from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
Rajendra Bhat, Director, National Mentorship Development Program, NEN
Rajendra Bhat has over 18 years of experience in entrepreneurship. Having started his career with one of India’s top IT firms, he went on to launch his own enterprise in the area of Web
development while the Internet was still a fledgling business opportunity. Having led the startup
through the boom and bust of the Internet age, he has successfully transitioned to the role of
entrepreneurship educator and mentor. Currently, he is the Chief Mentor at NEN Mentor Platform. Rajendra has a post-graduate degree in Business Management from the University of Mumbai.
